At GSN Pacific we CARE and value MANAAKITANGA:

GSN Pacific Ltd GSN Pacific Ltd

We believe in giving back and have been sponsoring five vulnerable children through World Vision International since 2001 (for over 20 years) in communities struggling with poverty and hardship. Through this sponsorship, we have seen many of our sponsored children able to get an education and their community’s sanitary, economic situations improved.

Also since 2001, each year GSN Pacific has given sponsorship to the annual Special Children Christmas Party dedicated to giving special Kiwi children, their families and caregivers, a spectacular day to remember. Every year nearly 10,000 Kiwi children with special needs, challenging life or health circumstances are invited to a party like no other.

These children have faced great challenges throughout the year and don’t always get the opportunity to be invited to parties. That day is a chance for them to feel “normal” and also provide a place where they won’t be judged, stared at, or avoided and where parents and caregivers can relax, connect with others and feel they are not alone.

GSN Pacific- Sustainability Policy

At GSN Pacific, we are a supporter of the Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA) 2025 Sustainability Pledge, and committed to operating our tour services in a sustainable and responsible manner, while preserving the natural and cultural heritage of New Zealand. Our aim is to minimize our environmental impact, support local communities, and provide an exceptional experience for our customers.

This sustainable policy outlines the principles and actions we undertake to achieve our goals.

  • Conservation: We actively sought out tourism operators that adopt the conservation and protection of natural resources, flora, and fauna in the areas we operate. We adhere to all relevant environmental regulations and strive to exceed these standards wherever possible.
  • Carbon Footprint Reduction: We are dedicated to minimizing our carbon footprint by adopting sustainable practices, such as using fuel-efficient vehicles, promoting carpooling and public transportation, and regularly assessing and reducing our energy consumption.
  • Waste Management: We follow the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle throughout our operations. We minimize the use of single-use plastics, encourage guests to bring reusable items, and work with local partners to responsibly manage waste.
  • Indigenous Collaboration: We respect the indigenous culture of New Zealand and actively seek partnerships with local indigenous communities. We work closely with them to incorporate their knowledge, traditions, and customs into our tours, ensuring cultural respect and authenticity.
  • Cultural Education: We provide our guests with educational opportunities to learn about the rich cultural heritage of New Zealand. We promote cultural sensitivity and encourage respectful interactions between guests and local communities.
  • Economic Empowerment: We prioritize working with local suppliers, tour guides, and businesses to support the local economy. We seek to create opportunities for local communities to benefit economically from our operations.
  • Responsible Tourism Education: We provide our guests with information and guidelines on responsible and sustainable tourism practices, encouraging them to minimize their impact on the environment and respect local communities.
  • Small Group Tourism: We promote small group sizes to ensure a more intimate experience for our guests while minimizing the impact on fragile environments.
  • Eco-Friendly Activities: We offer a range of activities that align with our sustainability goals, such as nature walks, wildlife conservation experiences, and visits to eco-friendly attractions.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: We regularly assess our operations to measure our sustainability performance, identify areas for improvement, and set targets to reduce our environmental impact.
  • Staff Training and Engagement: We provide comprehensive training to our staff to ensure they are well-informed about sustainable practices and can effectively communicate these principles to our guests.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: We actively engage with stakeholders, including local communities, government bodies, and environmental organizations, to collaborate and seek input on sustainable initiatives.
  • Tiaki means to care for people and place and the Tiaki Promise is a commitment to care for New Zealand, for now and for future generations.
  • GSN Pacific follows the Tiaki Promise and will encourage our customers to do the same by acting as a guardian to protect and preserve Aotearoa New Zealand.
  • By adhering to this sustainable policy, GSN Pacific aims to be an active participant in responsible tourism, contributing to the preservation of New Zealand's natural beauty and cultural heritage for future generations. We are committed to continuous improvement, innovation, and raising awareness about sustainable travel practices.
